In an interview to Foxnews podcast, an ex CIA operative states Russia is more dangerous to elections than China, allegedly because Russia has nuclear power that can destroy America and China doesn’t. That excuse doesn’t hold water since nuclear power has nothing to do with the ability and incentive to interfere in elections. Readers may note that Nuclear, Space and Naval power of Russia is declining whereas China’s Communist Party powers in those areas are steadily growing with the help of technology theft and absolute control of conscription and labor that reduces the per capita cost of workforce and troops.

The growth of China’s global power is an outcome of the Chinese Communist Party efforts striving to increase domination of trade, industrial supply chain, silk road initiative, Island Hopping Expansionism and a GDP that has surpassed $14 Trillion compared to only 1.6 Trillion of Russia. Chinese trade war and technological war with the United States is deeper than the trade war with Russia. Amazingly, Senate and Congress lawmakers bought into the narrative that Russia is more dangerous then China including Republicans like Graham, Gowdy, Burr etc.

Nuclear power is not the sole power that enables destroying or harming another country or overtaking other country resources including knowledge. Other tools may include biochemical means of destruction that can be transported or leaked easily as well as energy supply or infrastructure sabotage that may look as an accident. Cyber warfare and divisive brainwashing can destroy a county from within as well. Influencing judge selection, government positions, critical share acquisition, intervening in academy and schools and media indoctrination are also dangerous interventions that affect elections and national safety and growth.

That CIA operative also contradicts himself saying that Russia allegedly prefers Trump and later on saying Putin hates Democrat candidates the same as Republican candidates and that the 2016 Leaks were perpetrated in order to enable the Democrats to push a blame campaign on the Republicans. CIA operatives that pretend to be mind readers are a disgrace to the intelligence community.

When compared with Russia, China has more cyber warfare capabilities including social media platforms and traffic that can collect data and influence public opinion. They have developed tools that mimic American social media including TikTok, Zoom, WeChat etc. Those tools are accessible to a population of 1.4 Billion inland inhabitants and are used globally.

The question is why would operatives in the Intelligence Community push a narrative that downplays dangers of Chinese election meddling or other risks associated with the CCP? Here are some possible explanations:

• They have to double down the Mueller, Comey, Obama and Brennan narrative that Russians brought Trump to power, otherwise their political biases and incompetence would be exposed.
• They prefer holding reciprocal political, media and bureaucrat positions that they are comfortable with.
• They are afraid of cancel culture and a job security risk caused by the media and lawmakers whose family and friends have shares, businesses or financial interest in Chinese companies (Like Joe Biden’s son and Kamala Harris husband). Those groups use the narrative that anyone that blames China or the Chinese Communist Party should be considered as racist while everyone that blames Russia is not a racist.
• They have political bias.
